Libertine but not swinging?

Libertine VS swinger

It’s a recurring question about libertarianism. And we know what we’re talking about!

In our opinion, you can be a libertine without being a swinger.

We explain: libertarianism and swinging are two terms often used in association, butswinging refers to one of the many practices in libertarianism (further reading : Discovering libertine practices).

#Libertarianism

Libertarianism is a philosophy of life that celebrates sexual freedom, emotional exploration andopen-mindedness when it comes to sexuality. Being a libertine generally means having an open attitude towards sexuality, seeking new experiences, and embracing diversity of pleasure. Libertines may explore their own sexuality with their partner or others, but this doesn’t necessarily mean they practice swinging.

#Swinging

Swinging, on the other hand, is a specific practice in which consenting couples temporarily exchange partners with others outside their initial relationship as part of consensual sexual relations. It’s a libertine practice, but not all libertines are swingers.

So it’s perfectly possible to be a libertine without participating in swinging. Everyone is free to define their own sexual or simply sensual preferences and boundaries within libertarianism, and there are many other ways to explore and celebrate your sexuality outside of swinging.

We make no secret of the fact that as we immerse ourselves in the land of liberty, we’re constantly on the lookout for new pleasures and conquests. It doesn’t go without saying that we’ve explored certain practices step by step, before indulging in swinging. However, it’s a practice we don’t systematically explore in our experiments. That’s why we’re convinced that being a libertine doesn’t necessarily mean being a swinger… it’s up to you to discover your own pleasures and desires.
